TRISS 2025 - Scholarship Application

All required application materials must be submitted by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on November 30, 2025. Award recipients will be notified via email before the close of the year.

The following eligibility criteria are required to be submitted through the below form. Any additional material submitted will not be considered. Documents must be in PDF or image format. Information provided by all applicants will be retained for one-year.


  • GPA 3.0+

  • Accredited Institution

  • Current Residency

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

    • Proof of citizenship must be available upon request (birth certificate, passport, or naturalization paperwork).

  • Resume

  • Letter of Recommendation (academic or professional) outlining the following:

    • Length and nature of relationship to the applicant.

    • How has the applicant demonstrated his/her commitment to the information security field?

    • What other information about the applicant should be taken into consideration?

    • Contact information of the individual making the recommendation should further questions arise regarding the applicant, including email and phone number.

    • Naming convention: LastName_FirstName_LtrRecommendation.pdf

  • Personal Statement (no more than two pages, double spaced, 12pt font) to include:

    • Why do you choose to pursue your current academic and professional path?

    • What long term and short goals have you set for yourself?

    • How will the scholarship help you to achieve your goals?

    • What role does information security play in today’s world and why do you wish to be a part of it?

    • How does your current academic path support your desired professional role within information security?

    • Naming convention: LastName_FirstName_Statement.pdf 

  • Did you attend and/or volunteer for TRISS 2025?

  • Have you received a previous TRISS Scholarship?


Not all applicants will receive a scholarship, and applicants will only be contacted in the event of an award. Awards will be sent directly to the winners. The name, hometown and accredited institution of all award winners will be posted on the TRISS website. Award winners will be required to provide proof of eligibility including:


  • Proof of citizenship and/or residency.

  • Unofficial transcript from current or most recent academic institution.

  • Proof of grade point average.

  • Validate recommendation contact. 


Scholarship awards are not automatically renewed. All scholarship recipients must re-apply for subsequent scholarships and will be re-evaluated with all submissions. 


Evaluation Criteria

  • Demonstrated commitment to pursuing a degree in information security, information assurance, intelligence analysis, risk management or other position with a similar focus.

  • A demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively. 

  • How applicant will utilize scholarship funds.

  • Academic merit.

  • Attending and/or volunteering with TRISS.
